Contour Management Services (CMS) is a partnership formed by Mike and Sue Cranidge in 1999 to provide management services and distribution to the cartographic industry. Mike has over 50 years experience of maps having joined Ordnance Survey straight from school in 1956 and finishing a long and varied career as National and International Sales Manager for Small Scale Products. Appointed a director of the International Map Trade Association in 1991, Mike helped create the European Division of IMTA. It was at this time that Sue first became involved in the map trade when appointed to run the division office. |
| On retirement from Ordnance Survey, Mike became Executive Director of IMTA (Europe, Africa & the Middle East) and Sue, Office Manager, posts they held until Mike’s second retirement in June 2004.
Having been involved with the development of an export strategy for Turinta Maps from Portugal, it was no surprise when CMS were appointed agents and sole distributors for Turinta products in the UK. A distribution arrangement with US publisher and distributor Map Link soon followed by Meridian Maps of Australia in 2006. The CMS range was further strengthened by the acquisition in 2007 of the Professor Pathfinder range of US Campus Maps from US publisher Hedberg Maps. CMS are also agents and sole distributors for the best selling Titanic Reference Map.CMS is a stock-holding supplier and has the capacity and flexibility to quickly service both bulk orders and individual items. CMS are life members of the International Map Trade Association www.maptrade.org and founder members of the UK Map and Travel Distributors Association |
